Optical Brightener OB is a plastic whitening agent used for its unique chemical properties to add brightness to an array of materials. It is solvent soluble, heat resistant, and chemically stable for use in polymers like polyethylene, polypropylene, PVC, polystyrene, acrylics, polyester and nylon. Its use offsets the natural yellowness of polymers and yields a whiter appearance. The optical brightener absorbs UV light and modifies the wavelength as visible light in the blue range which creates brilliance in a fluorescent manner.
This product is particularly useful in the production of plastics and synthetic fibers, because of its distinct melting point, it can be easily used in processes which require heating and melting. OB’s signature feature is dispersion. This creates better stability and less exudation (bleed) in the application and leads to long-lasting whitening effects. OB has better dispersibility than its counterpart OB-1 (which has a higher melting point) leading to its benefits within specific productions, especially ink coatings and plastics that do not require the highest temperatures.

Optical Brightener CBX Disodium 4,4'-Bis(2-sulfostyryl)biphenyl

Optical Brightener CBS-X, also referred to as an Optical Whitener, is a chemical with the ability to transform UV (ultraviolet) light waves, while enhancing blue light and minimizing the amount of yellow light making things appear whiter. It is primarily used in the production of liquid and powder laundry detergents making fabrics whiter, brighter and appear cleaner.

This chemical is also used in the manufacturing processes of textiles, paper, plastics, paint, printing inks, and cosmetics. It has also been uniquely used to detect wastewater leakage, medical diagnostic procedures, and the elimination of agricultural pests.
Optical Brightener CBS-X has high whitening strength and excellent fastness to chlorine/oxygen bleaching. This product has a high solubility in water, even at low temperatures, which makes it especially suitable for liquid detergent. It can also be used in concentrated dry detergents, detergent bars, water softeners, soaps and water-based coatings. It also has use in the textile industry as the optical brightening agents of cotton, linen, silk, wool, polyamide fibers and papers.

Optical Brightener OB-1 2,2_-(viH39nylenedi-p-phenylene)bisbenzoxazole

Optical Brightener OB-1 is a fluorescent whitener used within the plastics industry to increase whiteness and create brighter looking colors while being remarkably heat resistant and chemically stable. It uses a fluorescent process that absorbs invisible UV light and emits visible blue light. This is particularly useful in the offsetting of yellowness within polymers and creates a whiter and brighter appearance. This product’s unique properties make it ideal for use in the production of plastics requiring high temperatures and synthetic fibers like polyester and nylon.

Optical Brightener OB-1’s defining characteristic is its excellent thermal stability at high temperatures reaching 375-400 ℃. It has the best heat-resistance of all whitening agents which allows it to be integrated within plastics engineered with high melting points. It is most recommended for the production of engineered plastics like polycarbonates, polyesters, and polyamide fibers. It can also be used for acrylic and styrenic fibers and resin.
